What convinced you to join the hej.build Architecture Advisory Board?

I am particularly drawn to the exchange of ideas, the change of perspective, and the opportunity to gain insights into new fields. I find it exciting to bring different viewpoints together, challenge established perspectives, and develop new ideas collectively.

What issues in architecture, interior design or building products are you most concerned with at the moment?

I am interested in how we can reach and move people through architecture. Which aspects are decisive in ensuring that spaces not only work, but also have an emotional impact and stay in people’s memories?

In just a few words, what does good architecture/interior design mean to you?

For me, good architecture always responds specifically to the place, its surroundings, its use, and the people who experience it. It emerges from the interplay of these factors and develops its own identity. That is why it cannot simply be transferred to another place, but only works within its overall context.

Is there a recent highlight or an all-time favorite project you’d like to tell us about?

One project that has stayed with me in a particularly positive way is »Retablo«. Creating a café with seating in just 21 square meters was a real challenge. Thanks to the clients’ and operator’s openness to unconventional ideas, we were able to develop a concept tailored specifically to the space while meeting every requirement. The result is a distinctive place that I still enjoy returning to.
