What convinced you to join the hej.build Architecture Advisory Board?

I enjoy exchanging ideas with people and thinking things through together, because conversations often spark new ideas that would not emerge without outside input. I’m looking forward to broadening my perspective and meeting interesting people.

What issues in architecture, interior design or building products are you most concerned with at the moment?

I’m interested in how architecture and interior design can gain greater recognition in society. How can we create an understanding that good design and high-quality products are not an afterthought? Well-designed spaces and buildings have a real impact on us: they give people a sense of security.

In just a few words, what does good architecture/interior design mean to you?

For me, good architecture and interior design begin with listening: What is really needed? This is followed by a fresh, individual idea that meets exactly those requirements and shapes the project, from the overall form down to the smallest detail.

Is there a recent highlight or an all-time favorite project you’d like to tell us about?

I enjoy looking back on our first project: BONECHINA. It featured a ceramic origami elephant, custom furniture made from pear wood and individually designed relief tiles. The best part is that the project grew into a partnership, allowing us to develop many exciting projects and products made from and with ceramics ever since.
